My simplified solution to health care reform:
Here's my thought (boiled down and very vague)
1) Rate the health policy as they do life insurance. Part of the requirement is a yearly physical to help determine you rating.
2) HSA for catastrophic problems- Health Savings Account. The more you use it, the less you have in the future. It will help curtail those who like to go to the doctors for every little sniffle.
3) A supplemental policy (for those who want to pay for it). Kind of like a buyers club program. It will help discount minor visits, and yearly checkups.
4) Open up state and privately owned and operated clinics for homeless and illegals. (only because I know there HAS to be something for those folks) Keep them from going to the emergency room for nonsense ailments.
5) A heavy dose of tort reform.
This should be a good base. Then for those Americans who want to life the unhealthy lifestyle can either pay out the ass for their policy, or fall into the very low budget/cost government plan. This way those of us who are responsible through out life don't get punished because of a few bad apples.
It is basically the same as a person who goes through life investing and prepairing for retirement, vs. those who are irresponsible and end up in a retirement complex (or worse) and their $300.00 per month social security.
Someone needs to talk to Obamas logo creator.
The similarities are scary.
