I'm going to pose a hypothetical scenario. Your neighbor is the owner of a fully functional, fully armed New York-class Battleship, Wyoming-class Battleship and Nevada-class Battleship. Would you object?

It'd probably work, then we could tell them the shells are just specialized pancake storage devices.

Good thinking.

Yeah, I think that can be said about MANY government agencies. Their policy seems to be "Well this caused the problem so to solve it lets do it even more!". I sometimes wonder if any of them have ever looked in a websters dictionary and read the definition of Insanity.

True.

I'd suggest something along the lines of; "It is my right to own this so long as I have not infringed upon the rights of others in obtaining the funds to buy it or in my aquiring of it. And I have not done either. So it is my constitutionally protected, God-given right to own it. In short, blow it out your @ss."

There are bow fishers that guides take out and they try to shoot them in the air. Most shots miss.

Yeah, because bow fishing is for when the fish is IN the water. Once it hops OUT it's in the territory of John M. Browning, Eliphalet Remington, William B. Ruger, Alexander M. Sturm and company.

I'd like to have one and dare someone from the government try to take it away. That would be cool.

Better be careful how you phrase that or they might send the Navy after you. And as much as I love big gun warships I don't think even a mighty battlewagon could stand up against the firepower of a Seawolf-class SSN.

Yeah, imagine what a 20-30 pounder would do. You'd be in the hospital for weeks if not worse. But there is a plus side, if I remember hasn't open season been declared on them? Get a few hundred pounders and some spits. Enough roasted fish to feed an army.

What makes it dangerous is a boat moving at high speed increases the energy of the strike. I saw a jet skier get knocked of the jet ski, he was OK bot had a big bruise starting across his soulder and chest with a couple of cuts. It only weighed around 3-4 lbs.

28.5 ft. on all three.

Yeah, and I've seen news reports saying that some that jump weigh in excess of 30 pounds. If that doesn't kill you it will sure as hell leave one gigantic bruise. I've heard of people being paralyzed by them. But I haven't heard of them killing anybody. Wouldn't surprise me though. Something that big flying up out of the water, sometimes at head level. As you said, it's only a matter of time.

I might really like to have one to cruise up and down the Illinois river, but it would depend on how much they draft. It would be real cool to launch a few depth charges and see how many Asian jumping carp float up.It would be an effective tool to help get rid of some. They have injured quite a few people and is just a matter of time until someone is killed if it hasn't happened already. If you want to see a vid of them I just posted one. Some of the big ones jumping are in the 10-15 lb range after that they stop jumping and can grow to 120 lbs. the address is http://www.politics.com/video/jb8OmEr7VqI/wild-asian-jumping-carp-on-illinois-river/
