I would have to say no. At the end of the day they have their freedom of speech, and until they specifically use it to incite violence that has to be protected, no matter how hateful or who it's spewed against. I also think though that people have the right - and frankly probably the responsibility - to protest churches that use hateful language, and church members especially have the responsibility to step away from any church that attacks any group of people, be that gays, racial groups, whatever. But ultimately, the churches, as with any individual, need to have the right to speak freely. It is part of the separation of church after all.

I agree with Jeremy. It's all about freedom of speech. And besides, who says all preaching about homosexuality would be negative? Gay people go to church too...they should be able to hear about their issues on a religious level. So no, do not outlaw preaching of homosexuality in church!

why would it be. freedom of speech is one of our most sacred rights in america. theres a classy way of doing something and a hateful way of doing something. however if they are going to preach about the impurity of homosexuality then they should also preach on loving thy neighbor, not judging one another and end their sermon saying that all sin is equal and he who is without should casts the first stone. that would tone down prejudice, intolerance and raise awareness that noone should shun thier finger at anyone...is shun the right word to use?

Of course it shouldn't. Everyone has the right to feel and say what they wish (exceptions include libel, fraud, etc.).

And I will say that anyone who goes to church to reinforce their disapproval of certain lifestyles is the one who has the problem.

You are correct. A true Christian and Preacher that follows the true word of God would tell you "As stated in the Bible, found in Genesis 19:22-24, Leviticus 18:22-30, Leviticus 20:13 and Judges 19:22-24 that homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord. There again it is also found in Leviticus 19:18 and Matthew 5:43 that you are to love not only your neighbor, but your enemies as well." A true Christian know that all men and women are born into sin and the only way to salvation is to accecpt Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior. A true Christian therefor, should not and would not judge any one else, but should offer them prayer.
