Should we Really Spend Resources on Climate Change?

Clayton9504 (Republican) - Member Since: Jun 28th, 2009 - Debate started 9 months ago

Why should we really spend taxpayers dollars and an unknown amount of time and money on changing the climate? Until we get a valid way of changing the climate I am 100% against the idea!

Should we really spend money on the military? I mean everyone in the US is armed. The fact is you can't have things like security or a healthy environment if you don't spend money on them. Nothing comes free. Absolutely nothing. And important things are called valuable because they are expensive.

So what are you saying? You actually believe by allowing government to spend more money and thus paying higher taxes we can change the climate or control the temp? Brink it on...:)

"Destroy the world?"

Get over yourself, how arrogant. At worst you are talking about the destruction of civilization as we know it. The planet will keep orbiting the sun no matter what, oblivious to the enviro-marxists who can't handle a little bad weather.

Next, what is to fix? We know that the Earth has been much hotter and much colder than it is right now, before there were humans. Are you suggesting we try to stop that cycle from happening? You do realize that climate change is responsible for the majority of evolutionary change on this planet, right? What do you have against natural selection?

Also, mankind has been defined by his ability to adapt to his surroundings. A large portion of our technical advances has been to deal with what nature throws at us. I for one think our money would be better spent readying ourselves for the climatic shift we KNOW is going to happen no matter what we do rather than waste God knows how much money and resource trying to stop it in the first place, which is a fool's errand.

In summary, stop your whining.
