From News: Media blames record cold on nature, warming on man
way2convey (Independent) - 8 months agoThe key word here is "expected". Sounds like a model they have set up and who knows what data they are using to create the model. Teikiatsu (Independent) - 8 months ago"We must take action now." wayway2tall 8 months agoWhile temperature data supports that global warming is real, the math doesn't necasarilly back it up. Humans create roughly 2 billion metric tons of CO2 per year due to respiration, and about 24 billion metric tons of CO2 due to power output. This is compared to a very rough estimate of 40 billion metric tons of CO2 due to the respiration of insects. The question is how much of an impact do those 24 billion metric tons of CO2 have if it's only a small portion of CO2 production on earth. I think it's fair to say that even an small increase in atmospheric CO2 content (somewhere between 5% - 15%) would have a significant effect on our planet's enviornment. Let's say it raises average temperature by 4 2 or 3 degrees. If i could convince my mom that my temperature was off by that much she would let me stay home from school. Get it? Is our CO2 production a big deal? No. Do we need to fix the problem so that our planet contiunes to have the same ecosystem that we've had so much success with for 50,000 years? Yes. FREEDOMMM (Republican) - 7 months agoHA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! AM365 (Independent) - 7 months agoGlobal Warming has been going on for Millions of years. LONG before mankind stepped foot on Earth. The effect we have on the mean temperature is minimal at best. It is a scare tactic for the higher ups to use to profit from people like you. countryplowboy 7 months agoI'll give you three; Antarctic Ice: Expanding, Temperature Rises: Not Happening(In fact actually Global Temperatures have actually went down) and the Global Cooling craze not too long ago. The same arguments were used, the same drastic measures were proposed. And the same cries for action were shouted. The cycle has went Warming, Cooling, Warming, Cooling on and on and on for almost a century. It's not climate change it's a climate cycle. 1 - 6 / 6

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration:
"An enhanced greenhouse effect is expected to cause cooling in higher parts of the atmosphere because the increased "blanketing" effect in the lower atmosphere holds in more heat, allowing less to reach the upper atmosphere. Cooling of the lower stratosphere (about 49,000-79,500 ft.) since 1979 is shown by both satellite Microwave Sounding Unit and radiosonde data (see previous figure), but is larger in the radiosonde data likely due to uncorrected errors in the radiosonde data."
Give me one example where this isn't happening. We must take action now.
