Any handgun with a trigger lock on it is no gun it is a rock.I'm sure some a-hole who comes into your home will gladly wait for you to get it out of your lock box and take off the trigger lock to defend yourself. Most steal them or buy them from someone who steals them.You could ban the ownership of all firearms and criminals would still have them.That is why we call them bad guys. The "crazy got cauight spotted by a staff and the "slow guy got killed by the police walking down the street pointing at passing cars. Not sure he was intelligent enough to know what a gun was. I ionly no of three mentally ill buys. out of about 1000 patients. I own guns I like guns I don't have as problem with restrictions on how and who gets to buy them. You are aware that buying in gun shows at least in my state avoids a background check? Actually the major sourse of criminals guns is stealing them from legatamate owners who don't secure them properly.. If crime would increase without them why is our crime rate so high now? I like my guns too but I hardly fear being required to be responsible. All licensed dealers must do the background check regardless of where they sell from. The only way to avoid the background checks is by buying from a private individual. Private sales can occur anywhere and are not limited to gun shows. The gun show loophole is a myth, perpetrated by uninformed or lying individuals. jel 8 months ago
