Are the Local Medias Under Reporting Tea Party Numbers? Are the Local Medias Under Reporting Tea Party Numbers?

Springfield IL  is a Republican town, we had April 15 at the Tea Party, my guess 1,500 attended, the Springfield local station an ABC affiliate said we had a couple of hundred. Are the local stations getting marching orders from the networks to under report? UK fan said there were approximately 1,000 at the Louisville, KY Tea Party and the local station reported 200-300. I am asking the Politics.com members that went to a Tea Party to put in the comments of this blog the number of people who attended the event and the number reported by the local media. If you can identify the town the media outlet is in as liberal or conservative, Democrat or Republican please do so.

Pelosi to Tea Partiers: Let them eat cake.

Yes, cake! "Tea Party Tea Cake"
My mother gave me the recipe when I was like 5. It's so simple, maybe a cook limited to boiling water recipes can handle it. :)

I was asked to post my Tea Party experience.

A crowd of 5,700 patriots of ALL party affiliations, of all races, of all backgrounds attended this protest on the Oklahoma State Capitol steps a high noon.

In front of me was a young black woman with her daughter. She stood there as people from all over the crowd including myself came to her and thanked her for having the courage to come and stand with us.

I told her how sad it was for me not to have been able to vote for the first black president because of his stand on the issues and that I would have been proud indeed had a conservative black candidate had run for office.

She told me that there are many many black men and women who did not vote for President Obama for the same reason that I did not vote for him. That they are very intimidated and it is impossible to debate in the black community. She said she just had to come today and I thanked her for having the courage to come and stand with us. We hugged and there were tears in our eyes. I wasn t the only ones...person after person came by with the same sentiments ... it was a truly wonderful sight to witness.

The people were not interested in party affiliation. No one asked what party you belonged to or who you voted for. The chants were about corruption and political power and greed that has corrupted Congress. We are not represented well...and that is the point.

Wednesday Tax Day was about accountability and the American people coming together to stop the largess that is corrupting Congress and bankrupting America. IT was about the future of our children and the heavy taxes that they will be forced to pay.

The media even in OKC didn't get it and there were calls for boycotting the Daily Oklahoman and the two television channels that didn't think 5,700 people protesting rated a story in the local news.

We are civil and angry.

I have pictures to prove it if I could post them ... and so does the www.teapartyok.com ... go see.

At the Oklahoma City State Capitol 5,700 tea bag party attendees brought their signs, their children and protested the fact that we have voted people into office that DO NOT represent our desire to reduce spending, balance the budget, stop the pork barrel out of control spending, stop the bail outs ... for the sake of this country. We want to get rid of politicians who are going to Washington to grandize themselves with money and power...and that doesn't matter what party or political stripe they are.

We have got to find a way to return accountability to government and take away the power of politicians and rid ourselves of the "good ole boy - good ole girl" politics as usual crowd.

We need to bring fairness and restore the free press ... support new news outlets!!!!!!!

I went to two rallies. One in Baton Rouge, La on the steps of the capitol had at least 5000 people there and I went to one in Metairie, La (outside New Orleans) and they about 1500-2000. To my knowledge the local media (The Times Picayune) havent reported it since they happened.

Nancy Pelosi responded to a reporter that thousands of astroturf (not grassroots) showed up and protested the very good things Congress was doing. I wondered what the big deal was to her if only thousands showed up? Seems she was more concerned about tens of thousands that went unacknowledged.

I'd also like to add the fact that the media here in Louisville only stayed at the rally for a short time. I also heard on Michael Savage last night that in Houston Texas there were FBI & DHS Agents telling people they couldn't go to the rally because it was full, even though people were coming out.

I do not joke when I say the libs could have bigger crowds because a large percentage don't work. They still have smaller crowds that are over estimated.

This is a common problem when Big Media report on Conservative Crowds. That's why Fox had a Heliocopter fly over the San Antoinio protests, so the jassacks couldn't lowball it. You'll notice though that 500 million show up for every Obama Rally. Coincidence?Bollucks.
