I sincerely hope that the Security council does not ask the ICC to suspend its indictment otherwise it will set a terrible precedent. Most of these strong men have nothing to fear internally. They, or their allies, commit crimes after crimes and do not have to answer any democratic body. The fact that the ICC acted is bad in itself cause it indicates that diplomacy has failed and that an astronomic number of people were killed. I don t know if the intentions of the ICC initiators were to intimidate absolute leaders in power or sanction deposed ones but it is a good thing that it plays both role. The danger is to become an instrument of the Security Council, then it will be easy to denounce it as the hand of imperial powers, the judicial "atomic bomb." He knows that his days as a free man are numbered, he has no incentives to make the situation even worse.
