Here is an extract of the Senate's press release on this subject:
[QUOTE]
“Before taking the country to war, this Administration owed it to the American people to give them a 100 percent accurate picture of the threat we faced. Unfortunately, our Committee has concluded that the Administration made significant claims that were not supported by the intelligence,” Rockefeller said. “In making the case for war, the Administration repeatedly presented intelligence as fact when in reality it was unsubstantiated, contradicted, or even non-existent. As a result, the American people were led to believe that the threat from Iraq was much greater than actually existed.”
“It is my belief that the Bush Administration was fixated on Iraq, and used the 9/11 attacks by al Qa’ida as justification for overthrowing Saddam Hussein. To accomplish this, top Administration officials made repeated statements that falsely linked Iraq and al Qa’ida as a single threat and insinuated that Iraq played a role in 9/11. Sadly, the Bush Administration led the nation into war under false pretenses.
“There is no question we all relied on flawed intelligence. But, there is a fundamental difference between relying on incorrect intelligence and deliberately painting a picture to the American people that you know is not fully accurate.
“These reports represent the final chapter in our oversight of prewar intelligence. They complete the story of mistakes and failures – both by the Intelligence Community and the Administration – in the lead up to the war. Fundamentally, these reports are about transparency and holding our government accountable, and making sure these mistakes never happen again,” Rockefeller added.
The Committee’s report cites several conclusions in which the Administration’s public statements were NOT supported by the intelligence. They include:
Ø Statements and implications by the President and Secretary of State suggesting that Iraq and al-Qa’ida had a partnership, or that Iraq had provided al-Qa’ida with weapons training, were not substantiated by the intelligence.
Ø Statements by the President and the Vice President indicating that Saddam Hussein was prepared to give weapons of mass destruction to terrorist groups for attacks against the United States were contradicted by available intelligence information.
[END QUOTE (Complete press release at http://intelligence.senate.gov/press/record.cfm?id=298775)]
Theirs was a masterful deception that actually extended beyond the Senate Intelligence Committee's report, because first they CREATED a molehill by using false evidence (from "Curveball" and others) and cramming it down the Intelligence Community's throat to produce an erroneous National Intelligence Estimate (NIE). Ahmed Chalabi's "Iraqi National Congress" was under contract with the DoD Office of Special Plans (DoD/OSP) to provide "intelligence support." "Special Plans" is a euphemism for deception planning.
In Phase II, they created a MOUNTAIN out of the molehill by exaggerating the NIE and adding other false threat data not even covered by the NIE, such as the Al-Qaeda connection. This deception operation may be regarded by historians to have been as clever as Operation Fortitude protecting our D-Day invasion! Unfortunately, Americans were the target of this deception rather than our enemies. Any questions?

(Ahem!) According to the Senate Intelligence Committe, the Bush administration deliberately misrepresented the Iraqi threat to justify the invasion (see http://intelligence.senate.gov/080605/phase2a.pdf).

I've asked the author, Joy Tiz, to reconcile her claims with the evidence presented in Obama's and Davis's writings. Thus far, she has ignored the issue and censored my questions in the comments section of the CFP website. This suggests that she is a willing accomplice in the disinformation campaign against the Obama-Davis relationship. I invite everyone else to compare her claims to the historical record.
Critics with a vested interest in discrediting Obama may wish to perpetuate this deception because they feel that the end justifies the means. Fortunately, most people have integrity. Most people will not tolerate falsifying evidence, especially when THEY have been deceived!

Back to the original article:
If critics scrupulously examined primary source evidence, rather than relying on the flagrant falsehoods of Freddoso, Kincaid, Corsi, and their colleagues, they would recognize the depth of their deception. Through innuendo, half-truths and outright fabrication, Obama’s opponents have deliberately misrepresented a casual family friendship as sordid political indoctrination sessions or worse.
In their fervor to malign Obama, they sought to transform the legacy of a relatively obscure leftist poet into a “Stalinist agent” who corrupted Obama’s values. Slander and libel were their tools of the trade, because truth was no obstacle. Destroying Davis’s reputation was collateral damage. "After all," they probably thought, "who would care enough to defend an obscure black poet who passed away years ago?"
"Truth is generally the best vindication against slander." - Abraham Lincoln
BTW: I am a retired Air Force Intelligence Officer with specific training in Deception Analysis by the C.I.A. in 1989. I am familiar with disinformation campaigns, starting with Operation Fortitude protecting the D-Day invasion, through Operation Left Hook protecting the coalition drive into Kuwait, and the Bush administration “deliberate misrepresentation” of the Iraqi threat this century. The disinformation campaign against FMD fits the pattern.

Millions disagree, and many with legal minds greater than yours.
This is true. Fortunately, it is more difficult to convict than to impeach.
There is a major difference between an excuse to impeach (such as Clinton's perjury) and a reason to impeach. A bona fide reason should examine the actual harm caused by the accused's actions rather than whether or not they were just a technical violation.

No, I feel the bulk of your reasons to impeach are asinine, so I did not dignify them with a response. All of your arguments against his BC are irrelevant, because the United States Government considers the supplied form to be legally sufficient to prove birth in Hawaii. Legally sufficient = case closed.

You ignored the bulk of my comment, so you accept them as good reason to impeach, but go to a lame COLB argument. Do you know that they were given to illegal immigrants children that were foreign born during that time? Do you know that it was a forgery to boot with multiple reasons to point to it being a fraud, such as his fathers race as African, when at that time it would of been negro. If you want to see more I submitted a vid a few months ago showing it's fraudulent qualities. He also went to Pakistan when no American passport holders could.

The President is under no obligation to satisfy idle curiosity, because the supplied certificate is legally sufficient. The "short form" certificate has all the elements the State Department requires for proving citizenship to obtain a U.S. passport: "your full name, the full name of your parent(s), date and place of birth, sex, date the birth record was filed, and the seal or other certification of the official custodian of such records" (see http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/79955.pdf).
Thousands of Hawaii residents use the same "short form" certificate to obtain passports. This short form certificate is legally sufficient to prove birth in Hawaii. Parentage is irrelevant for citizenship purposes, because the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution grants citizenship to all people born in the United States (except diplomatic personnel). As it proves Hawaii birth for United States Government purposes, demands for the "long form" are frivolous. The State of Hawaii uses the long form to determine parentage not for citizenship purposes, but to determine eligibility for programs available to Native Hawaiians.

Lying, per se, is not a basis for impeachment.
Perjury on federal documents is a crime and could be an impeachable offense, his firing of the independant prosecutor was an impeachable offense, his unconstitutional appointment of zsars might be impeachable, his using campaign funds to fight the BC cases is illegal and may be grounds for impeachment. the list goes on but I tire of this and the BC issue should put him out of office.

Since Barry's past has been sealed, by himself, it's hard to know what to believe. If you believe what he wrote in his books then he should be Impeached because in his own words he admitted to being adopted, and records that have come out show he used a different name other then Obama when he went to school in Indonesia. The papers he signed when he became a Senator stated he had never gone by any other name. So was he lying then or did he lie when he wrote his books? Mind you now, I didn't write the story, I just posted it, but if you can get Barry to unseal all his records and prove me wrong, well knock yourself out.

It seems that historical revisionism is alive and well. In a frenzy of intellectual dishonesty seldom seen since the seminal "Protocols of the Elders of Zion, this article on Frank Marshall Davis flagrantly misrepresents empirical evidence available through primary sources on the Internet, including Obama's "Dreams From My Father" and Davis's own writings. Claims that Davis was Obama's "mentor," a "fomenter of racial hatred," "America-hating," or a "rabid sexual deviant" cannot be substantiated by empirical evidence. Although such memes have virally propagated throughout the blogosphere like a grade school game of "gossip," examination of primary sources (their actual writings) belies these falsehoods. You will find that ALL of these claims were fabricated by Obama critics seeking to smear him through guilt-by-association. It is unfortunate that estates of the deceased cannot sue for slander in the United States.
Although Obama's book indicates "Frank" offered him advice on racial issues, Obama wrote that Davis "fell short" and his views were "incurable." Obama did not even visit Davis for three years before going to college. Obama's book, itself, proves that Obama did not consider Davis to be a "wise and trusted counselor," which is the definition of "mentor." But what creative definition can Davis be considered his "mentor"?
I've gone through "Dreams" and never found the inflammatory quote posted in the original article: Frank telling Obama "never trust white people." I googled and could not find any empirical evidence that this is an accurate quote. Can anyone else find it, or is it a fabrication? The book is posted online here:

"Davis’s support of the Soviet Union and the Communist Party was so extreme that he was rejected by the NAACP in Chicago" also needs a reference. Any empirical evidence (contemporaneous primary source references, not speculation sixty years later) of this, or that he hated America? Davis praised the Red Army during WWII, as did the British Prime Minister and the American President. The Soviet Union was our ally.

Kaleokualoha 5 months ago
Sorry UK FAN, but you are wrong. Davis is not a "self-proclaimed Pedaphile." Further, the novel (FICTION) "sex rebel" did not even say that Davis "had sex with both boys and girls of young age."
Although he wrote a pornographic memoir-novel (see http://www.answers.com/topic/memoir-novel-1), literal attribution of those events to Davis is as as absurd as attributing the events of "Fanny Hill," "Gulliver's Travels" or "Lolita" to their respective authors. By definition, ALL memoir-novels are fiction although allegedly factual.
