Examiner - Like California, and most states in the nation, North Carolina is watching as it goes further into fiscal decline. The budget gap is currently at $4.7 billion. State Governor Beverly Perdue, a Democrat, is attempting to patch things back together, but in her attempts may make the circumstances worse than they were before.
