Submitted by Queen | 8 months ago

Newsweek - If you ask Dr. Steven Spady, there are two important words missing from the nation’s conversation about health reform: “personal responsibility.”

Just put down the doughnuts to reform health?
Since Billy declared oral sex as not sex, oral cancer has been on the rise. Yes there is a connection oral sex to cancers of the mouth and throat.
Personality responsibility for the mouth goes beyond dougnuts.

You do not see the number of tests and labs ordered just to cover your a$$. The number of unnecessary admissions that are for the same reason. Trial lawyers are the reason for more and more documentation that takes doctors and nurses away from the patients. The total cost of lawyers can not be easily seen but it is more than the stated 20-30%.

Many doctors and nurses are leaving their professions due to the unending paperwork.

Look up CAR that obama instituted and you will see why there may be many hospitals closing.

Thank you greedy trail lawyers...

trial lawyers are not the problem....law school has only a 50% acceptance rate across the country..... convincing law school instructors to take a pay cut is pretty difficult..

How do you expect those former law students to pay back those student loans?

Trial lawyers certainly are part of the problem, but so are the groups, associations, politicians, laws, and policies that have enabled the dissolution of personal responsibility. Trial lawyers did not create the problem, just capitalized on it.

The trend is sickening really...

What do you think Cigarette taxes are? Or tax credits for getting married and having children?

OK, I don't want the government dictating any MORE of my life than they already do.

Personal responsibility is almost lost in this country. Everyone blames someone else. It's sad. I wish personal responsibility would find its way back into our society.

Maybe we would see less obese people suing McDonalds, less caffeine addicts suing Starbucks, less schools blaming low scores on lack of funding and insisting teachers are infallible, less parents blaming video games, tv, and everything else under the sun for their bad parenting skills.

Personal responsibility, PLEASE COME BACK!

That is all fine and dandy, but I do not want the federal government dictating what is deemed acceptable behavior so that we fit into the responsible category.
