Dean: Republicans want to 'kill the bill and the president Dean: Republicans want to 'kill the bill and the president"

Submitted by countryplowboy | 8 months ago

radioequalizer.blogspot.com - HOWARD DEAN: At the end of the day, I think we will. First of all, the president is a very smart guy and he knows very well this can’t work without a public option. Secondly, you know he’s run into a rough patch in the Senate, mostly because of Democrats, honestly.

The Republicans, they have no interest in this Bill. They’re using the 1994 playbook. Let’s kill the bill and kill the president.

I would reform it by getting the government OUT of it. Government isn't the solution, it's the problem. Take any and all overnment taxes on it and repeal them.

Or, as in Britain, if a 20 year old should receive a liver transplant. And come to the conclusion it is more cost effective to let him die. Government? PRACTICAL? This from the government that went and spent hundreds of thousands for a pen to write in space when they could have used a 99 CENT PENCIL! Or a space hammer? OUR TAX DOLLARS WENT TOWARDS #HIT LIKE THIS! As a bumper sticker I'm quite fond of says; "If you aren't infuriated, you aren't paying attention."

Depends which Repubican leader you are talking about, some (such as recent turncoat Benedict Specter) do it just so they can keep the office they think they deserve. However many are just standing for what they believe in.

Ohh, and I forgot the most convincing argument against Commiecare. IT'S UNCONSTITUTIONAL. As were the bailouts.

By reform I mean something that will avoid our country's eventual health care crisis.

Second, I don't understand you at all. The government would have panels that would determine if an 80 year old woman should have expensive open heart surgery for the 3rd time. Right now an insurance company has every legal right to deny a different 80 year old woman coverage for her first surgery, claiming that she was born with a mishapen valve, and they don't cover pre-existing conditions. The government will make decisions that straddle the line between practical healthcare and procedures that cost a lot but may only lengthen life a few months. Why is that worse than a corporation who will drop you if their profits are low that quarter?

And I'm not accusing you of opposing obama just to be argumentitive. I'm accusing Republican leaders. And all you have to do to refute me is prove that republicans are forming their own healthcare reform based on numbers, statistics, and projections (the exact same tools that health insurance companies use to maintain their profits).

First, what would you mean by "reform".

Second, I oppose anything that is giving the government the power to judge if I am worth enough to keep alive. What Sarah said is true, eventually the government would have to make panels to determine if treatments should be paid for. It is a simple fact. It happens in all countries with government run healthcare. And don't kid yourself, it would be government run care.

Don't believe me? The original income tax was for only the wealthiest 1%, now it's 75%. The original Tax Code was 14 pages. Now it's tens of thousands.

Third, I do not oppose anything for the reason that the General Secretary is for it.

I agree, the man is a democratic party marionette. Yet he still manages to put his foot in his mouth. I think he's right about this though. The republicans seem to agree that health care reform is necassary, but all I hear from them are arguments against socialized medicine and death panels and not their own ideas for reform. That tells me that they are more concerned about defeating the president then fixing the problem. Which I guess is exactly what you would expect from career politicians.

I personally do not know a single person who likes Dean. And after this comment I'd bet those numbers are getting even thinner.

Howard Dean is so over the top with his rhetoric at times it is embarrassing. If you have be dragging out Dean to defend your issues, you have some serious problems. Most of my family and majority of friends are dems and they cannot tolerate this man after the way he bungled the dem. primaries and his statements of almost abject hatred for political foes in the past.
