Wall Street Journal - The U.S. and Cuba plan to start talks on resuming direct-mail service between the two countries for the first time in nearly half a century as the Obama administration continues to try to engage the communist island, diplomats said Tuesday.

Satellite phones are harder to intercept for one. Harder to command and control by a govt. Cells and landlines can be easily monitored.

The American people. Let us travel there, mingle with the Cubans. Let us interact and show them the real America. Freedom loving individuals who do not hate them, but want to make life better for them. Let businesses trade and send american goods and services over. Show them the real reason freedom is so great directly. Not through the State Dept.

We cannot do it so long as the embargo is in place. It has to end.

Who exactly is going to show Cuba freedom and openness ? Not the Obama administration- they have been pushing policies that look more like those of Cuba than a Free Market society that America once was. Heck even Chavez told Castro to watch out because the way Obama is going they would be to the right of Obama's America.

Drop this ludicrous embargo already!

Enough of this failed policy. Reach out to the Cuban people with freedom and openness, show them why they should pursue democratic and market oriented change at the grassroots levels and change the nation, inspire them! Stop shunning them and fueling the Castro brother's propaganda machine with half promises, hypocrisy and a failed embargo policy.
