That's pure partisan crap. Democrats have initiated U.S. involvement in plenty of wars over the last century. WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Bosnia. Moreover, Democrats in Congress voted for the wars in Iraq (both times) and Afghanistan.
Democrats are not the party of peace, much as some of their supporters would like to believe. So, while Republicans tend to be quite nationalistic, most Democrats are hardly any different.

It's not globalization, but it's what republicans think globalization should be. Many republicans believe that if there's going to be a globalized system, it should be an american system.
I don't really paint Woodrow Wilson and the geneva conventions as a democrat vs. republican issue. The parties have changed a lot since then. Strom Thurman isn't a democrat anymore. Besides, It was a mistake for any politician to think that they could maintain a hegemony, but if there was ever a time to believe it was possible, it was after WWI.

That's not globalization, that's empire or hegemonic control. You should know that Democrats have been just as active as Republicans in establishing these policies. In fact, it was Woodrow Wilson who truly envisaged America's role as hegemonic master in international affairs.

The globilization that Piere was referring to was America s belief that they have the right to be a part of every policy decision that every country makes. Not to mention the fact that we believe it is our right to hold military bases all over the place. While it's not economic globilization, other countries see it as America's attempt to globalize itself.

Have I ever said I'm a Republican? No. And that paragraph is paradoxical. Republicans are against globalization. So if you think I am a Republican that would mean I am against globalization.
Ohh, does Mr. Frenchy-French need a lesson in English? Absurd is a term that means Immensely Stupid, as France having to rely on the Third Reich would be. And if you are so ignorant to have missed it I'll let you in on a little secret; "goodwill", had enough sarcasm in it to knock a rhino on it's @ss.

you are right Patriot Watch. no one respects Obama because he has done nothing but posing for magazines. As for the axis of evil we must care about them because if we negotiate with them we will live in peace with everybody.

well...i think U.S has to negotiate friendly treaties with both countries. We have no right to intervene on their domestic affairs. Like Mexican President Benito Juarez said : the respect to a person's life is peace" El respeto al derecho ajeno es la paz. If you want something from your neighbor be his friend and he will provide you whatever is necessary. That is why 'The axis of Evil" hates our country. because it has no respect for the sovereignty of others. :)

Poor little countryplowboy, you are the archetype of the republican who was excited to spread globalization around the world and who doesn't understand what it really means.
BTW, you may still believe the 3rd Reich would continue on for a thousand years but it actually ended a while ago.

So, yu think we should rely on a country that has devoted itself to our destruction? And is trying to obtain the means to accomplish that end?
That's as absurd as me saying France needs to rely on the "goodwill" of the Third Reich.
