First, I would never go to Cuba. I prefer being outside gulags. FYI, I agree with Winston Churchill when he said "To improve is to change. To be perfect is to change often."; however as I have said time and time again. There is a difference between change and knowingly running full bore over a cliff.
Commiecare isn't a good idea, as there are but two ways it can end. Number one, like the USPS. Number two, complete government takeover of our Healthcare system.

What separate you and I and your friends is that, I see a sustainable Capitalism thru reforms and changes, world growth is not stagnant and why should the US? Why you and yours selfishly fail to acknowledge this fact. In your conquest to conserve things as it, all about you and your groups need, God forbids! should it be tolerated would be the root of the nation's structural demise.
I have been to one of the countries you selected and many other as well, fyi, people seem to be doing just fine. If you would leave your farm and village and lay down the plow from time to time to travel outside the US even to Cuba or Great Britain you might be enlightened. Igorance, almost and always have a way of self destructing.

Confirmation of my points indeed.
Am not sure about where you are getting your numbers about healthcare coverage...will revisit after some research but I am telling off the hat you are wrong!
Did you know how the existing healthcare plan came about? It was government led initiation with the people's vote right? No different from what is going on now.
Again, you are wrong, majority of the country are not in opposition to the proposed healthcare initiation, it is some conservatives and others but does make not the majority.

"Everything is not available for everybody and it never will be. I don't understand why people in America have this mindset."
Pasanta realize this statement. It is true and it is fact. For you to not understand that life is not fair (should have been taught to you a long time ago) tells me one of two things. One you are looking through rose colored glasses or you are completely uninformed when it comes to life as a whole.
Believing and dreaming of life being fair and everyone being treated equal is a great thing to strive for, however when it comes at the expense of individual freedoms it becomes wrong and evil. Fully believing that the government knows best when it comes to how you or I or anyone deals with their needs and wants is ludicrous. The only thing the government should be taking care of is enforcing the things that the MAJORITY of the people believe is wrong or something that should or should not be done.
Seriously when 85% of the population are currently covered by health care and 70+ percent of those folks are happy with their PRIVATE RUN health care one can only come to a simple conclusion. Yes there are changes that need to be made but the government is not the answer and the PEOPLE not the government dictate it not the other way around.
You liberals tend to forget one true and important fact about this country. It was founded on the belief that you as a person, an individual are responsible for what you have or don't have when it is all said and done. This idea of nannyism and lack of responsibility and becoming dependent on some suit thousands of miles away to take care of you is asinine.

Well, it make sense that the people who stand to best benefit from the Universal Healthcare should it materialized are the biggest opposers. The true of the matter is, many of them tended to vote Republican and are conservatives and are under constant influence of bamboozled campaign against the proposed health plan reform by the conservative media outlet, of which most unfortunately only rely on for their news and information. It is rather unfortunate to see people so brainwashed they would remain desenfranchised than to own or test the option to have low cost access to at least primary or general healthcare.
One tries to be not partisan when it comes down to implementing important social safety net that stands to benefit the society as a whole, as healthcare reform. But as one brilliant liberal citizen said, when liberals propose ideas about social development be it good or not, it is done with the intent of the whole community under the umbrella in my mind, yet with the concept of the American individualistic spirit intact. Why for conservatives it often comes down to the individual need(me, myself, and I), or preserving the benefit of group(s) they belong to, and importantly benefits should not be extended to the have nots. This is because, as Libertyfor puts, "Everything is not available for everybody and it never will be. I don't understand why people in America have this mindset."
I understand, this is as result of ignorant and politics of fear, which is stands to demise any constructiveness.

Although centralized government can often deliver healthcare services more efficiently, "it runs counter to perhaps the rugged individualism on which America is built -- where everything is available for everybody," said Diane Rowland, executive vice president of the nonprofit Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation.
I find it interesting that this lady would say this. Everything is not available for everybody and it never will be. I don't understand why people in America have this mindset. The American dream happens for those who are able to attain it. Through education, health, stability, and luck. A friend of mine who was lucky enough to land a job making 60K a year, worked there for 3 years, had excellent benefits, and pretty much thought his job was recession proof got laid off on Monday. He has a house, a car, student loans (he's in school to get his bachelor's), credit cards, and other things to pay for. His former employer is going bankrupt due to the economy. He was living the American Dream and pretty much got screwed because of corporate greed (his bosses couldn't sustain their mid 6 figure incomes and keep the company afloat also).
So the moral of this story? Nothing is equal to anyone unless you were born into equality. Equality equals money. Money makes the world go around. If you don't have enough money, you too can and will get screwed along with everyone else. Save all you want for that rainy day, but one day it'll start raining and it won't stop.
