This will be good. Let's hear the alternative history of Jefferson: the Authoritarian. McCain is the Neville Chamberlain of American Politics; it figures that you would like him.

I think John McCain has more class than that although Bush was only to happy to be photographed at the good old Jerusalem wailing wall as well as saluting Israel's flag. And I have praised John McCain myself in a different thread. America has never had a president more left wing than Thomas Jefferson.

You ll have to excuse Obama Teikiatsu as he has a pretty big mess to clean up compliments of the president you probably voted for twice, and yes, presidential historians have already evaluated Bush and these results were released. You re lack of awareness of this is YOUR problem not mine! I m sure these historian have yet to reach the lofty heights of intellectual brilliance as the people you voted for but, yes they re the 'sorts of intellectuals' I listen to on that matter.
And no, I have never voted party line! I voted for Nixon in '72, Reagan in 84 and shook his hand when he stumped in Southern California. I voted for Clinton in '92 (and I've explain elsewhere why his opponent lost his reelection bid.). I think I voted for Dole in 1996 - so so much for your party line assumptions.
And as for your 3rd paragraph I'm glad that like the emperor and his new clothes you fancy yourself able to read minds but I reservations as to whether you can read English as you've misrepresented all my statements! As to whether or not the Republican party lacks intellectuals I disagree with. You need to be pretty smart to be effectively devious & get people like you to support a fraudulent war. However I'm sure they're smart enough not to run with intellectual politicians as they have a fairly good track record for winning. They know the people whose votes they are after and how to get them.

John McCain would praise a brick wall if it would bring him praise and acclaim from the media; in Obama's case, the comparison is redundant. Empty euphemism? You know full well that Obama is farther left than any President we've ever had; and it took something to beat FDR and Wilson. Obama is a modern version of Huey Long: a demagogic Perfect Storm of failed Leftist Ideas and Chicago mercenary politics propelled by the sanctimonious liberal racism that ignored perfidious character and unproven leadership capabilities. We are all now paying the price for that; precious few even know the cost.

1) His brilliant 143 day career where he did exactly nothing? Oh wait I guess he did vote for TARP and some other stuff. Mostly he was just Present.
2) Historians grading Bush before he even stopped being an active President? Last I checked real historians judged after at least 10 years if not more. What kind of intellectuals were you listening to?
Just please stop. You're embarrasing yourself. Just admit you voted party line like always, or that you wanted hope and change, or that you just didn't like McCain or Palin. Honesty is the best policy. At least you admit Obama's campaign was the dirtier one.

Intellectuals are unelectable anyway! What wins here in America is usually a cowboy hat, a horse, 'family values' talk, & the use of empty euphemisms like 'Socialism' 'Communism' and of course 'Real Americans' the same as apostate Jerry Falwell's 'moral majority' (whose members were neither - lol)
However I will say one thing Obama had going for him: He's black! White guilt driven liberals couldn't get enough of that! However I had 2 good reasons for which I did vote for him:
1. His brilliant Senatorial career which everyone (including John McCain) praised (everyone in the Senate that is.
2. America desperately needed SOMEONE to stem the inevitable tide towards national and ergo international bankruptcy caused by the 2 terms of George W. Bush (whom presidential historians ranked at near of bottom of ALL US Presidents! lol)
But generally it's the 'folksy' down home father figure figure that grabs the votes. This also includes 'fatherly' democrats- Jim Wright, Ernest Hollings.
For Democrats it's usually the same but with a different script; more of a 'I'm like you because I was poor and abused (Clinton), 'for the common man' (most New Dealers).
Either way it's always the dirty campaign ads that everyone decries (lol) but ultimately are the most effective!!
