I don't glorify the state. And I don't glorify the military, I highly respect those who've served but I would never glorify it. It's whole purpose is "to kill people and break things. It's success is measured in bodycounts and strategic targets razed." There's not much glorious to that. Except for maybe the fact that those who they are loosed against are nominally evil.
No, you can't. Except for one tiny, almost insignifigant thing. What they did is wrong. You are a Libertarian, you know that some things are always wrong. Murder is one of those things, R*pe is one of those things. Kidnapping is one of those things. On and on. No matter the motivation except in certain cases they made a choice to perpetrate the act. They should be punished for making that choice, not the thoughts that motivated it.
Which wars? They are many and for just as many reasons. Therefore lumping them into one category is quite a folly.
Telling those who are entrusted with the defense of this country that they cannot defend themselves is not just to be despised. It is something that the person who thought of it should be given a short rope and a long drop for.
No, he is criticizing him for not being human. For putting politics ahead of human life.
"Not all Muslims are terrorists, but nearly all terrorists are Muslim. And you just can't ignore that." So long as they are peaceful and do not harm me I care not what their beliefs are.
But as to Jihadists, they want to harm me and everybody else simply because we are not of their faith. Those of Muslim faith who do not join the Jihad will be killed even more painfully than those of other faiths.

It never ceases to amaze me how many of you will dehumanize someone in order to fit events into your narrow, rigid schema about certain groups of people. So many conservatives love to glorify the state and the military. Hasan joined the military straight out of high school because he wanted "to serve the country he was born in" (he said that). The man became a psychiatrist (something he obviously was not suited for) and then tried to "counsel" veterans who had experienced the horrors of wars which have been waged for several years that the United States government should have never begun. He also tried to "counsel" them on how they should get themselves back to readiness for these wars. He himself was now facing deployment and would be exposed the horrors that he had been vividly exposed to while providing psychotherapy for years. In addition, it is not strange that he should feel conflicted (I would feel conflicted and I have absolutely no Muslim heritage) about going to war based on his family's heritage and the history of the U.S. government's involvement in the Middle East.
Again, you simply cannot lump all criminals, all murderers into one big group. Each individual has different motivations and experiences. If you deny this truism, you deny the exact reason why individual rights exist in the first place: individual autonomy.
It disgusts me to see no criticism of the Leviathan's wars, no criticism of the Army's denial of their soldiers' right to arm themselves (which could have prevented so many of those being killed), and no respect for the individual differences and experiences which define all human beings - the basis for individual liberty itself.
We are all saddened by this loss and angered by the perpetrator. Beck is criticizing Obama for the same thing he himself is doing: using a tragedy to score political points. A number of you on this board have seemingly used it to justify your inflexible, collectivist beliefs about Muslims and show your rejection of human liberty.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again. He is the best thing to happen to Conservativism since Reagan or Limbaugh.

I listened to the Beck program today, and I did not hear Mr. Beck speaking. He had a good reason, beings that he left his show sick the other day and had an emergency appendectomy. I think people need to be sure they know the facts, before they accuse people of something. Otherwise, you look stupid, like Prez Obama when he accused cops of "acting stupidly" a couple months back. And oh, yeah, I was shocked at Obama's "shout out to Joe Blow" comment yesterday. What a fool. And I though Bill Clinton could compartmentalize. Prez Obama doesn't really give a damn about anyone, least of all the "infidels" fighting his comrades in Islamic countries.

Barry said we should not jump to any conclusions.Imagine a white man walking in ,draped in the confederate flag and yelling "the south will raise again".The leftist cries of white racism would be deafening. But we better not be saying anything about the religion of pieces.
Now they are putting out bogus articles claiming the transition team this murdering piece of islamic trash was on had zero connection to the admin.Barry once boasted about the great influence from that very transition team.Seems the left just has to keep making things up to dispute the truth,go figure. As usual the leftist loons here tried to push their version of truth for the article, draped in deceit and smothered with lies and topped off with stupidity. They are not even challenging anymore.
