I think many people specifically want to see the certificate themselves, they believe that it would be easy to get supporters in a government to say they saw it, and it was magnificent. (To give it a Seinfeld reference).

Seriously. How hard could it be to just let people ogle it for a bit, catch come real photos, make a big thing of it? Get it off the radar, off the mind, make it go away? Why make it such a frustrating big issue?

I thought he got an official response when the Hawaii officials came forward in the last week of the campaign and said they had examined the cert and that it is legit. It's never over 'til it's over, though, and i still wonder why he never just opened his wallet.

Although, if you read the story it appears as if he is trying to simply get an official response other than "you have no standing" that came from the previous lawsuit in this direction. As a candidate it is likely that they can't tell him he has no standing.
