White House accuses New York Times of 'gross negligence' White House accuses New York Times of 'gross negligence'

Submitted by Lighthouse | 1 year ago

Politico - The White House on Sunday issued a blistering 500-word response to a scathing 5,000-word article on the front page of Sunday's New York Times that says President Bush and his style and philosophy of governing played a direct role in the mortgage meltdown that's crippling the nation's economy.

The response accused the nation's largest Sunday paper of "gross negligence."

I completely agree. I saw this "legacy tour" once, for a band called Spinal Tap.

They had great plans to build a mighty Stonehenge replica, but things didn't work out and they had nobody to blame but themselves.

And as the tour drew to a close, the only place they could get a gig was on a military base. But the military people at the base did not think they were very good.

The Great Scriptwriter has a most excellent sense of humor.

I think the only reason that the WH has even bothered to get up and bothered with a "blistering" response of 500 words is that we're now on the legacy tour phase. I bet somebody was p**sed to be hauled back there to write up that thingy (interrrupting the holidays and all that). In any case, we'll see more of these I think; and if that does not work, a bunch of folks will be writing their own books, to set history right.

Bush is totally off base, he is greatly responsible for the melt down. We have had the eight worst years in economic policy of any administration. Source Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Harry Reid. He needed to keep pumping the housing loans to keep the economy going and the appearance that everything was all right. No Obama bravely steps aboard the Titanic, while all the women and children and rich men are in the life boats, even the band has split, just the Tuba player is there. But Obama will fix this mess. He promised change and I believe him.
