Obama hits the road to rally public support for stimulus plan

FOX News - With his economic stimulus bill facing a bumpy ride in the Senate, President Obama is hitting the road and trying to rally the public in an attempt to sell the $900 billion spending plan.

Obama, harkening back to campaign-style methods, plans to hold town hall meetings in Elkhart, Ind., on Monday and Fort Myers, Fla., on Tuesday, and he is also holding his first prime-time news conference as president Monday night.

The man can do no wrong. If this does not work and it will not.He will just blame someone else and say "We need to double our efforts and spend more money to get the economy moving forward."Why not cut corprate taxes in half? Why not loosen up some of the regulations on some big business?How about some tax breaks for the little guy? The idea that America owes us something is mis understood.America does not and cannot guarantee results.It only offers the chance to fail.It is up to the individual to be a succses.Many of the most sucsessful people in history have been colossal failures before hitting it big.Some many times.Don't give up work harder and just don't participate in the slow economy.When it comes back you will be far ahead of those who stood in line with their hand out waiting for Obama to crap gold into it.

Obama is the man with a plan that won't work. Pelosi and Reid and the Marxist members of the far left of the Democrat party have wanted all this stuff for years and now is the chance it get it all at one time.We will be paying for this for not just years but decades.All of the people who had to keep quiet did so and Obama got elected. now it is payday and they want thier piece of the pie now.You are in a dream world if you think this will work.I have a plan as well.Like Dos Bros says contact your representatives tell them no matter which party or political bent they have if they vote for this "bailout" you will do every thing you can to help whoever is running against them to win.No matter who it is.This "madness" will cripple our economy for years. F.D.R and tried something like this and all it did was prolong the Great Depression buy 5 or 6 more years.

Excellent post. Let's just not call it a "Stimulus Bill." Call it a 'Democratic Party Spending Bill' that is not meant to to do Jack Squat for the regular guy trying to pay his bills. Nancy Pelosi is a friggin Sea Monster.

I can't wait for this! I can't wait to hear him speak and turn the masses into goo. This is so pathetic. Obama has to go to the airwaves to explain to the public that this stimulus bill is not payback political favors. He's got to explain why Smurfette (Ms. Pelosi) thinks that giving money to the NEA is going to stumlate the economy. He's got to explain why giving the Faternal Order of Police Officers millions is going to stimulate the economy. He got to explain why giving millions to research whether a cap and trade policy will actually work is going to stimlate the economy. Yeah right he's going to explain all this. No, he's going to give another one of his fluffy speeches where the mass will swoon. His talk will be no substance as all of his campaign speeches were. He's going to tell us that we need to get this bill on his desk ASAP so they can start work on the next trillion dollar bill. I hope that the networks have technical difficulty during the speech so that we don't have to listen to his doo-doo.

We should keep a running tally on how many lies he makes about it, it would better be spent in reducing taxes. He may put us in a full blown depression. Lets hope one of the court cases to get him to produce records for citizenship gets through. Liberals if he has one why is he fighting (spending $10's of thousands) having to produce them.
