This is why I said have a team or teams man the cameras, they will go through the reports and check the video during the time the report was made. They decide whether or not to dispatch the mobile teams.

Oh no I was never saying get citizens to patrol the borders :) Just let them watch the cameras, report incidents and earn rewards for valid reports/captures.

im fine with the citizens watching the cameras and reporting, im not fine with giving armed citizens the right to "police" areas because they want too... thats too much power and without proper training it could get very ugly very fast.

To help get more and more people to take part, offer some type of reward for valid reports that lead to the capture of drug smugglers, border crossers etc.

I am not saying drop everyone from border patrols, but have teams that are set to respond. Have teams that man the cameras, have teams that partol. Allow us citizens to watch the cameras and report activity to the teams manning the cameras. They can then watch the footage, send in the response teams etc.

it would be a big help I think :D

the last thing i want is a bunch of charles bronsons running around thinking they have the authority to be the law. im for more man power and less things like walls. walls never work and penn & teller's show showed some illegals getting over, under and through a border fence in under 3 minutes

I think they should just forget about paying people to man the border, rather have teams on call and equip the border with tons of cameras like Texas does.

Allowing the public to police the borders gives them a sense of importance and also they feel good when they catch someone and report it :)
