You're right and wrong at the same time. Either you believe that rights are awarded individually by God, or you believe that they are awarded collectively by men and governments. God has never revoked a right because it was conveinant, you can't say the same for government. Group rights do exist, but when power is centralized, they can evaporate at the whim of a tyrant. THAT is why the framers believed in INDIVIDUAL rights and DECENTRALIZED authority, so that those rights couldn't be taken all at once. The farther we get from their safeguards, the greater the risk that their fears will be realized.

They poll cynical titles that are antonyms to what they really are, like blackwhite. Remove the secret ballot and call it the "Employee Free Choice Act"; "Freedom of Choice Act" that will deny any choice whatsoever to it's unborn victims; "Enforced Media Diversity" to silence dissent on the Internet, talk radio and cable. The Left ranted about Fascism for 8 years, now the word won't cross their lips. While I'm being inflammatory, the left secretly lives by the Party's motto: "War is Peace; Freedom is Slavery; Ignorance is Strength.". If you want me to elaborate, contact me through my inbox, as this isn't the "Orwell's prophecies" article. You'll notice that like in Animal Farm, Some animals are more equal than others. So if your "group" falls out of favor, like smokers, bonus recipients and now carbon emitters, your group's rights are a casualty to popular opinon or worse, the opinion of the elite. Beware of group rights, they never last.

Are there specific terminologies you refer to? Alinsky promoted relinquishing individuality for community benefit. HRC has, for years, spoken out for benefitting the global community. As simple as it is, I wasn't aware of her inclusion of Alinsky in her thesis. Since Barack Obama was also a community organizer, as Alinsky, it makes sense HRC would be attracted fellow community-focused forgers.
1984 is blueprint for what is already partially unfolded. Bringing it back to banning black paint on cars: Community vs Individual rights.

True, but I urged anyone who would listen and a few who wouldn't not to vote for him. I told a female friend that my mother voted for Clinton in '92 because of his butt, she now denies it and wishes she hadn't. I told my friend she would someday do the same with her kids on O'bummer.

If you want to see Obama and HRC's playbook, get Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky. it will put into context the current events and give you a window into Obama's personality. They have a pic of out there of him teaching from it at U of Chicago, and HRC wrote her senior thesis on Alinsky @ Wellesley.

why not california is just this side of a totalitarian police state. i was part of the mass exodus from california in 1992. shortly after leaving the tyrants in charge wanted to stop people from leaving califronia and ask them why they were leaving or do whatever it took to prevent people from leaving california just shy of using berlin wall style tactics. petersen publishing got into trouble for publishing an article that included the words "FASCIST CALIFORNIA"

I don't think this will pass nor do I like it, but it makes sense. Little gains like changing the color of a car, when you spread that to hundreds of thousands to millions of cars, suddenly you start to see big gains in conservation. I guess that's the rule of overconsumption...
jcrawford, the assumption is that they know better. Since you're not willing to make lifestyle changes to limit consumption and waste, the government will make you do it.
Forcing people to do this though? Not a good idea. There are alternatives.

Wow things are really starting to get strict in CA eh. Now you cannot even choose the color of your car? I know the point they are trying to say is that your equipment has to work harder, therefore is more prone to failure and possibly even fires. However who are they to tell you that you cannot do something like that. If you want to buy a car that will not last as long as others or is a fire hazard who are they to stop you?
