Agreed, we need to target Terrorist groups. Though there are better ways - The Bush way was wrong, and the Obama approach is moving in a similarly wrong direction.
Bombing the hell out of nations does not target terrorist groups, it does not stop them or eradicate them. It gives them propaganda material, it increases their anger, increases their recruitment push and actual numbers, and the gives haste of their plans. A stronger offensive enacted in the wrong way will cause more attacks in less time. That is where we are headed.

We'd be in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the UAE then. Probably more.
we cant do anything to Saudi Arabia until our thirst for their oil is taken care of... Egypt and the UAE have issues but their government is stable to a certain extent. Afghanistan and Pakistan are chaotic and Pakistan is sitting with nuclear weapons pointing across their border to India and if they're not stabilized, could see loose nukes running around.

Actually those who brought down the towers are dead... they died while doing so.
Those who sympathies and are members in the same organization are over there, and they are in Africa, Asia, Europe, and many other places. To argue we are in Afghanistan and Pakistan only, for those reasons alone, is flawed. If we were out to get all of those who 'hate us' we would be in many, many more places.
