Will gay marriage still work as a Republican wedge issue?

Submitted by Obama Buddy | 12 months ago

Salon - Experts think the issue that helped George Bush win reelection in 2004 may have lost its electoral magic. But look for it to resurface in the 2012 GOP primaries.

I think that will depend on Obama. He keeps his promise to the Gay groups, it may be the last straw by an already alienated electorate. The folks can take this in small doses, but they can overdose. Try to remember '93-'94: gays in the military, on top of tax increases, on top of Hillary care, on top of the house bank scandal. Too much will provoke change, not the kind he wants either. One or two strong election cycles does not give you Impunity to roll over the will of the American people, just ask the GOP of 2000-2006.
