US Defense Department to Release Prison Abuse Pictures US Defense Department to Release Prison Abuse Pictures

Submitted by Obama Buddy | 12 months ago

Voice of America - A rights group says U.S. authorities will release photographs showing abuse of prisoners by U.S. personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan during the Bush administration.

The American Civil Liberties Union said late Thursday the Defense Department had agreed to release the pictures by May 28, in response to a lawsuit the ACLU filed in 2004.

When they are no longer plotting to kill our innocent men, women and children.

Fair? They are men who decided that they would kill anyone because they were American or Christian. I don't really think that they have a right to complain about their toilets facing the wrong direction or women seeing them naked. And if putting a wet towel over their heads until they tell us what we need to know is what it takes to save innocent people so be it.

Muslims have been making slaves of Christians and animasts in the Sudan for years and all over the muslim world Christians and Jews are murdered and raped. Churches and Synagogues are bombed and burnt on a regular basis. Islam is a evil religion satan would be proud of. A crusade that teaches them that we will no longer accept the aforementioned activities or genocide will occur.

I am going to say to you the same thing I said to Emily.

Those men in Gitmo were terrorists. If they wanted fair treatment they shouldn't have killed innocent civilians who's only crime was to be an American. They are not entitled to the Geneva Convention as they are not a part of any nations military. If they want to make a political statement by killing someone, if that is how little they value human life, I see no wrong in discomforting them to save thousands.

Emily the torture the Iraq's put upon our soldiers which they DO. Is nothing like the means we use to get information. Not only that each one of our special forces goes through the same "torture" that was used at Gitmo for training.

This is not only blown way out of porportion but is a crime that the dumb-Ocrats have brought this to the worlds attention.

there are many in our government that should be tried for treason and Bush is not one of of them. Please start with Frank, Wrangle, Pelosi, Obama, Reid and all those who sold us out for their own personel gain.

They are ununiformed combatants and not covered under the Geneva Convention. The terrorists don't conform to it with our troops who deserve coverage. The non debilitating actions taken may have saved thousands of lives. If you feel so badly about it go to Afghanistan and tell the Taliban your sorry. And when they cart your headless body back maybe some more people who feel your way can be sent over too.

Or in other words, that you're a morally bankrupt, nationalist state-worshiper.

They deserve no protections under the Geneva convention and they would of treated our troops to brutal treatment. Men and women were sent to military prison to placate the liberals. You are totally a muslim worshiper if you think that is fair and better prostrate yourself for morning prayers to Mecca.

That's because you're confusing justice with revenge. You don't even know of which crimes these individuals were guilty or not guilty. Each time you ignore the rule of law, you take one step closer to becoming that which you abjure.

You keep saying people feel sorry for them. I can only speak for me and I don't feel sorry for them. You cannot arbitrarily punish someone because you just know they did it. Where does it end? It doesn't if you let it happen. It's not about the trees. It's about the forest.

I commend the ACLU for holding the government accountable.

Still, I can't help but wonder if the public ought to see these pictures. Is it not customary to protect the identity of victims of violent crime, rape and torture? What about the privacy of those who survived AG? Are they being re-victimized by having pictures of themselves, naked, vulnerable, available for public consumption?

Thoughts?
