The concern I had at the time was that his record as a public representative didnt merit his election to the worlds most powerful political office. It would appear that talking the talk is enough to get you elected as opposed to walking the walk. After 8 years of bush I'm somewhat surprise the American electorate were so easily sold. The esteem in which he was held around election time seems to me to be entirely unjustifiable and still is. For example did anyone really believe that Guantanamo Bay would be closed as President Obama said it would.
On the Obama deception I'd rather satisfy my own curiosity on this subject than take somebody elses word for it so i'll reserve judgement for the time being
