I don’t talk about sex more than I talk about religion, heath care, the Bush’s legacy or the many other subjects this site allows me to talk about. You are the one who jumps on every comment I make about sex (or not - since in this case I was talking about abstinence not sex for say!)
I am not sure to understand what you mean by “there is nothing special about satisfying animal lust.” There is nothing special about drinking a Californian wine but I do it from time to time and I must admit I enjoy it (most of the time).
I think I agree with your statement about sex being the object of a relationship. But of course, we are talking about long, marital, children, dishwasher, what did you do today, did you call your mum – kind of relationship – like the one I am sharing with my lovely pregnant (again!) wife. Talking about sexual incompatibility, I was referring to people like Ted Haggard. I’m sure he was pure for his wedding night. Having sex before his wedding could have helped him to realize he was gay. Joke apart, I think it is very hard to find the right person to spend the rest of our life with. Sex is an important part of relationships between people who love each other. I won’t bore you with repetition about the bad things that happen every day around the world because of sexual frustration. You talk to somebody, you share great times, you are sure he/she’s The One and on the wedding night, you realize he/she’s a fetishist or he/she has a huge foot odor problem or he/she’s gay or… And please, don’t tell me it can’t happen if you know this One very well. I agree sexual enjoyment is a benefit of the relationship. But I also think sexual enjoyment is necessary for a happy long lasting relationship.
I know the benefits of abstinence – I found them on Google:
1) Clear conscience with God – uh… I will pass on the subject; my conscience is as clear crystal.
2) Peace of mind – see 1).
3) Self-respect – This one sounds really crazy too me. I can’t imagine how it is possible to have sex with somebody you don’t respect and since I already respect myself…
4) Respect precedes love – well… just said it.
5) Positive outlook - How is it possible that people think sex makes you carry such an emotional baggage that you can’t enter marriage with a “positive outlook”. This people are simply perverts.
6) Personal freedom – I don’t get this one. I thought freedom meant… freedom, not being obliged to blindly follow others’ opinions. Why being abstinence would mean being free while being sexually active would mean the opposite?
7) More satisfying and more stable marriage – This one is a joke. I’m sure the guy who wrote that was laughing like crazy while writing this sentence.
8) “Longer lasting relationship. Premarital sex surprisingly breaks up more dating couples than any other factor.” - You bet! I explained why in the paragraph above (the one with Ted Haggard in guest star).
9) “No comparing or being compared sexually in marriage.” – What would it be such a big deal since everybody is already comparing everybody else. Why sex is so important for these people?
10) No worries about pregnancy and STDs – And if you don’t eat: no worries about getting fat! And if you don’t drive: no worries about having a car accident.
11) “Less worries about bad reputation” – No comment. It speaks for itself: it must be a catholic site.
12) “It's a fact that persons and couples who have premarital sex are more likely to have extramarital affairs as well.” – A fact? Did they read the literature from the 18th and 19th?

How little you understand about sexual compatibility. You are VERY young.
Sexual compatibility is a LEARNED skill between two people over time. Anyone who has been married more than a few years knows that sex only gets better and better between a man and woman ... the older a couple gets.
If that isn't happening to a couple it is because they do not start out with unselfish love...that is unconditional love the real deal.

When sex is the object of a relationship, sex is fun at first, or you move along, for the next object of sex. The desire to be sexually satisfied grows selfish. The sex of that relationship (built on sex) gets old, boring and the partners want to find something new, exciting and refreshing. (Incompatible sounds nicer than selfish, doesn't it?) You may call it incompatible sex, but it is really unquenched selfishness. (BTW, selfish focus that ruins relationships includes more than sex.)
Yes, there is something to be said for abstinence. You paid attention to available information? Then you will know the benefits, so I'll not bore you with repitition.
You describe in your second paragraph selfish reasons that lead to interference in many marriages. You describe in your third paragraph human behavior that contributes to committed, meaning life -long, marriages. (I'm using marriage rather than relationship, to contrast its ending you used, divorce.) For the marriage, or any relationship, that lasts, two people whose love for each other grows through the years, sex is not the object of the relationship. Sexual enjoyment is a benefit of the relationship. There's a big difference.
It is not necessary to continue to devolve this topic from something good Obama may have done, to a topic of sex, or abstinence. It is not safe to presume I reflect either personal opinion or experience. No need to reply.

Well if you waited god knows how many years to have sex then why would you still not take precautions to not get pregnant so you can enjoy being able to have sex without worrying or (for women) feeling fat. Not to mention there are a lot of couples who do not see having a baby enter the plan until 5 or 10 years after marriage.
Incompatible sex is the number 2 reason for divorce in this country, it's the number 1 reason why men cheat and the number 2 reason why women cheat. So since we as humans put so much emphasis on sex why should we wait until we are in a seriously committed relationship that has serious consequences if we end it? Compatability doesn't grow over time. One who likes and/or wants it more than the other won't stop wanting it and the other won't start wanting it.

Come on Hepsy, I know what abstinence is. I didn't have sex until I was... well, I waited a bit. If you believe in life-long monogamy, you have to admit that sexual compatibility is very important for a couple. How can you be sure that you are sexually compatible with somebody if you wait to be married to have sex? And thinking about precautions doesn't make sex less fun, you just need to be creative and sometimes it makes it even more exiting.

So what was the point you are trying to prove by cutting and pasting the TOS? The part you posted clearly states that CHILDREN are allowed to use this site. She made it quite clear what her age was yet you still choose to act like she is an adult that you can just be any old way with. My upbringing taught me that you don't engage children in adult conversation and if you do then you have to be the ADULT in said conversation. In your original post you never once acknowledged single mothers who are out there doing everything on there own. You stated there should be a class to teach them how to keep their legs closed, implying that they are slutting around getting pregnant on purpose. I used Bristol Palin as an example that s**t happens, taking responsibility for yourself means that you understand that s**t happens and you deal with it accordingly. She is one of those single mothers because (according to your logic from your earlier comment) she couldn't keep her legs closed. What you said made generalizations and grouped everyone together. Take responsibility for your words, you said them not I.
