besides more debt, weaken our military, telling the world how bad we are, bowing to muslim, fail promises, fail transparency, what good has B.O. done for U.S.A.
Can someone out there tell me one good thing Obama has done for this great country ?
I don't think anyone really deserves this award in current times given that we have two ongoing wars and several countries that threaten world peace. Seems like the nobel committee was trying to make a statement and encourage the US to continue down a particular path. It may have been better for them to revoke the award this year given our current situation.
I'm not from Seattle and will never be a hawks fan.
Other than Barry, who would of you picked for the prize??
By the way,how is it you are not a hawks fan??
Well we have some pure disagreement here and a lot is still to be seen. I think fundamentally no one is capable of changing the actions of the countries you list in less than a year.
I do agree with your comments about what the US has done on a global level and the sacrifices we have made on behalf of other nations.
That will have to change with the "flattening" of the world but it will take years.
Of the names I know that were nominated, since not all are known,I would of chose Ingrid Betancourt.
I really don't see any restored relations with long term allies. If anything he has alienated them.Obama has spoken of the change in foreign policy approach. It has not produced a thing so far.North Korea firing off a missile everytime they see fit,Iran doing pretty much as it pleases with nukes and killing civilians, sending stimulus money to Hamas, the list goes on and on. He is viewed as a light weight overseas and rightfully so.
The only nation he has stood up to is Israel.our ally. That is the change the world sees as good. There always has and always will be the anti-semitic leaders of the world applauding for the demise of Israel. It takes no courage and offers no recognizable leadership skills to feed that fire. The constant blaming of America for the woes of the world is getting old.No nation has sacrificed more ,for less, and freed more people then the USA.I have yet to hear him talk of freedom or liberty. He and his party leaders have spent countless hours criticizing and demeaning America and its citizens in place of standing firm to a single enemy . That's not leadership, not visionary, pure partisan rancor for the sake of who he truly fears, someone speaking truth.
This award is about approach and not results. The US foreign policy since WWII has been primarily based on dominance....meaning, we set policy and expect other countries to follow. That worked for a while but times are just much different now that there a number of developed nations that are economically similar to ours. This award is given because of the fact that Obama has publically changed our approach to foreign policy. From what I described above, to resolving conflict through dialogue and engagement - this is a completely new platform for the US. Does that mean it prevent risks from terrorist attacks? - Nope but that can t be a permanent policy driver either - We will never get anywhere using that approach.
The Europeans who have been offended by Bush (minus Blair) andsee Obama and therefore America in a new light as they have frequently referred to a "dark period"of America under Bush, and see Obama as a leader in global issues - climate control, nuclear disarmament, and improved relations with the mid east.
So think about it. In 9 months he has restored relations with long term allies - this is supported from any media source and we now have mid east and Asian countries at least willing to negotiate. That doesn t mean everyone (there are some nations that we can work with diplomatically) but these are clear indicators of a policy framework that is making progress.
Again, who is your vote for the nobel peace award?
You avoided my question to you with your own question. What has he done to deserve the award??We're waiting...
On another note,I'm pulling for the broncos, this weekends matchup has me worried.
There is no question that you all provide amusing comments but I'm still waiting to read something factual and beyond poorly thought out opinions. And I too reside on the west coast.
Wondering - what economy policies would you have implemented to improve current conditions and who would do you think deserves the peace prize and why? Convince me that you have just a basic understanding of macro economic theory?
I doubt the Jets will go but I'm hoping the 9er's or Vikings.
Sorry to make you wait, but when you are clocking in at 9am at the DOJ Troll center it is still 6 am on the west coast. I had to stop laughing, finish my coffee and get to work. The reason listed on the Nobel peace prize site for Obama winning is as follows.
"for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples." The only thing extraordinary Obama has done is apologize for America every time he is on foreign soil. Camp Gitmo is still open, Obama has many war fronts active, closed his eyes when innocent people were being murdered in Iran, the list is long. But he gets the Nobel peace prize because he went to the UN and sounded like a miss Universe contestant- "World Peace". I wonder are you more proud of Obama winning or maybe one of the past winners would be a better pick. Say like YASSER ARAFAT.
You should be so proud.Even the whitehouse's first response was"is it April 1st?' Explain to us exactly what he has done to achieve the "peace prize".At this point we might just as well award the super bowl trophy to the jets, after all, they are heading in the right direction and have really applied themselves. So this is your great "hail barry" moment, really.Amazing how the left just can't look themselves in the mirror if someone overseas is not happy with America, but could care less what the citizens of this nation think or feel. It's not so much just the disgrace of obama,it is the disgrace of the left hailing failure and deciet as leadership and a new direction for America. If you have been reduced to spouting the peace prize to barry as an accomplishment,I think you make the point for us,thanks for that by the way.
Kepi, Paleryder & ChipBuffalo...noticed the quietude.
So Obama has disgraced our country? Have you heard that Obama won the nobel peace prize?
Thanks for all the great “ammo” and feel the need to respond with one initial question…Can you too see Russia from your house?
First of all – I never said that Bush was directly responsible for the current economic crisis or Obama has solved it. I did say (and pretty much any well respected economist would agree) that recent fiscal and monetary policy prevented a financial crisis. Our current unemployment would be significantly greater now had the policy not been implemented. It minimized bankruptcies in the financial services vertical and provided funds to these organizations so that they could continue to extend credit to the consumer and corporate markets. Without that funding we would have seen a huge collapse of business large and small outside of the Financial Services vertical. And I would say if there is one person to blame for our financial crisis it is Alan Greenspan as he made credit policy to loose, took too big of a gamble, and ignored the warning signs that maybe lending policies should be tightened up.
Secondly – There is no one policy that could address the multitude of issues here. The fiscal and monetary movements made by the current administration and fed was really two fold. 1. Prevent the collapse of the financial system and large corporate employers and 2. Restore the vitality of national economics. The funding to the banks has less relevance to the second point. The funding that the administration provided has been allocated to the states but current state capital planning procedures and governance are not flexible enough to appropriate investments that would render jobs. This is primarily a state issue vs. fed issue. The idea here is that the stimulus funds would create investments, new employment, and therefore increase aggregate demand and encourage private sector companies to increase production and therefore require hiring. Yes, none of this has happened yet…..yet.
I guess I’ll ignore the comment about how Obama’s administration includes terrorists. I don’t think there are any “terrorists” in the republican or democratic parties. Some might construe Chaney as one but I think he just has a bad shot.
As for foreign policy? You have to be kidding… now here comes some Bush bashing. No president in history has ever alienated more countries quicker than Bush and his stupid “you are either with us or against us” comment. Foreign policy is about building relationships and trust which is exactly what Bush failed to do.
I hope you don’t exercise your right to vote.
Troll
Are you really that unaware of the things taking place in the country?Nothing you stated is based on facts ,just talking points vomit from the hate-America first left.Nice thing about the left, you never have to wonder long just how ingorant and out of touch they are,it will jump right out and present itself in just a few short sentences.
Exactly what fiscal policy are you talking about? Nothing he has done has really been implemented yet, other than cash for clunkers (and that was a HUGE blunder).
As far as I can tell, his "fiscal policy" is to scare the crap out of business owners, resulting in a massive hiring freeze.
lol
I don't know what universe you are living in but it isn't this one. Are you one of those DOJ trolls?
Unemployment is going up every month. Porkulus was mainly political payoffs and pork projects. More than a million people protested his spending and the liberal agenda, with his popularity diving at a pace not ever seen before.
His administration is full of tax cheats, would be terrorists, and socialists if not full blown communists.
Foreign leaders think he is naive and inexperienced which is a public statement, who knows what they think privately. He has digraced our country with allies and kissed up to enemies. Many countries think he is weak.
A majority of the country is against obamacare and with every day more against. obama is going to be one of the worst presidents ever, the people of this country don't want socialism.
That person you called an idiot has a firmer grasp on reality than you and with what I have seen of you and know about her, she is more inteligent than you.
Go ahead and continue to comment on the site, we can always get some laughs out of them.
a playoff would be a very good thing. Some of the smaller schools like Boise State would have a chance to get a championship. The BCS gives them almost no chance where big schools get all the breaks.Name the last mid size school who won a NCAA championship in Div 1.At least if they give a playoff nobody can complain if their team loses.
Very naive question. He executed a fiscal policy that has for the most part prevented a financial crisis worse than the great depression - he "executed" - big word and huge change from the previous administration. He has also boosted confidence and hope of most American’s which is a significant driver of aggregate demand. He has started to restore our foreign policy which was basically disassembled over the last year. He is also on his way to pushing forward a change in healthcare policy (an administration endeavor that has been ongoing and unsuccessful for over 50 years) by building strong bipartisan relationships.
That is all in about 7 months discounting the fact the no policy really happens during summer months…just like private business.
Hopefully people have some reasonable level of patience to understand that a large band aid is insufficient for cleaning up the mess that we are in – Worst economy since the GD, two wars, extremely high unemployment, and terrible foreign relations. Historically, we are at a pretty big low and thankfully have someone capable of steering us toward a better future.
And the fact that some idiot brings up gun sales makes me second guess why I'd bother writing on this site.
You are the first one, you should get a prize. White House press secretary would work, Robert Gibbs sure can't think of anything. The pay isn't peanuts either.
There is one good thing.he has not acted on it,but he has commented about it.He wants a playoff system for NCAA football. Their ranking system really riles me.It may be unimportant to most and not a matter of national security, but the BCS has got to go.
Even he still can t believe they fell for that line of crap. Thus the reason for still campaigning.
Well since Kepi already got Gun Sales I'm going to have to go with Ammunition sales. And probably security systems.
I can't think of anything................... no wait,.....................nothing, sorry
