I miss the good old POLITICS.COM days - (you know when people commented on news stories) Submissions are great but only if they interest people or they get comments that invoke othe thoughts.

Please become more interested in politics people and make comments....the "what's bubbling tab" used to have more streaming information and streaming comments. Not from 3 hours ago

I know Patriot Watch posted a blog like this previously but I don't remember it being this bad. There were much more interesting stoies and more interesting. Come on people- Comment on more stories everyone.

In the old politics.com days - they didn't do a "daily most active" - it was the active all time users - maybe that is a factor that has lessened motivation.

I agree with the assertion. However, the issue is that most users seem to be drawn to bait oriented and pot stirring topics, the kinds that provoke inflammatory response. A typical story might begin: “Obama is not a US citizen; the President alienates all conservatives from congressional bill votes.” This lead will be followed by users defending and attacking the different sides, with perspectives on which side maybe right overshadowed although more often than not these topics are incredible or without merit. I understand that facts alone cannot always settle our political disputes or discussions but these stories make few demands on our thoughts or time, its quick and easy to digest.

This element of convenience also may help explain why, thought provoking postings that require objectivity often means you get a little to no comments. Indeed, I have posted several postings of coherent substance where the story line is less predictable and the comments thread tally quickly tells you users’ interests. Including, recently,” Healthcare debate produces angry protests, retorts", accompanied by debate inciting question, whether such outburst disrupt the democratic process, the “Pashtun ethnic agenda at heart of Afghan war”, followed by the solicitation suggestion of a possible best policy response going forward. But who knows? Perhaps, users do not have time or interest for such topics or those of similar narrative nature but rather about disputes between the parties, races, merits, wars, etc. Or perhaps people are on vacation and we should expect greater turnaround of user responses after the summer vacation.

I am sorry if I offended you for making a statement that you voted for Obama.

No you didn't offend me. I would've voted for him if my voter registration wasn't messed up when I went to vote. I just don't like assumptions, that's all.

I worked for his campaign because I got tired of my peers saying they were going to vote for him because of the color of his skin. I wanted people to know the issues and not look at just the commercials or the color of his skin to make a decision. It would disgust me to hear people saying they wouldn't vote for him because he was a n*****, or what in the hell would a black man know about running the country. It turned into making sure people understood that skin color and gender didn't render someone incompetent to run this country. Not to mention the fact that 75% of my friends and 90% of my neighborhood pretty much had that mentality, but they could talk to me or want to be around me and not understand what my problem was.

And before anyone jumps on me for lord knows what, my reasons weren't racially motivated. I was a Hillary supporter and I was pretty pissed when I watched him take the nomination.

However, the point REMAINS the same - which was it is the fault of people like Patriot and Mrs Pres who continually vote for these people who openly are against our views and who pander to corporate interest and against the United States of America citizens.

They never have to listen to us until we PROVE that we are not willing to vote for them and they never will - especially with people like you that help them gain more votes - which in one way is voting for him - especially should you have dedicated your services for free.

Is that tough for you to hear? I bet it is a truth that is even tougher to face.

I'm sorry but I don't think commenting on a political website that a few of my friends work (or have worked) for hardly counts as a resume builder. This was more for fun and helping out some friends than anything else.

To build my resume I do things that actually are out in the real world. Not online.

There are reasons why I didn't vote in this election, that will be cleared up by the time the next presidential election rolls around. I worked for him because I knew I wasn't going to be able to vote. Make sense? I was just astounded that you would make that kind of assumption about me not knowing the truth. You usually don't do that.

Rosette I agree with your blog. I have lost interest with the site comments are few and the discussions few. I wonder how much is due to the polizeration of the public in whole.

I do believe obama is a terrible president. McCain would not of been much better. My guy was Duncan Hunter. This site won't be much until the 2010 elections come around, if there are anyone left to care about the site. I have been looking around and haven't found any as user friendly as this one. Rather depressing out there.

MrsPres is looking for a résumé, She would be as two faced as those in DC already and as much as a socialist as obama.

Wait wait wait......When did I ever say I voted for Obama? Who said I voted at all? Just because I worked on the Obama campaign doesn't mean I voted for him. Here's a hint: I would have never in a million years have voted for McCain either! Just because of my political affiliation, it doesn't mean I voted or voted for my own party. Please don't asume. I kinda hate that.

You said, "Your just like her" - Uh, that is supposed to be an insult? lol!

You said, "A whack job" - how grown up! - sarcasm

You said, "Start standing up for your country" - I stand up for MY country all the time. I speak out against things like the Patriot Act and Military Commissions act. obama wasn't my boy and neither was bush.... Bush and the whole team got caught in an outright lie... Obama just started. You may disagree with healthcare reform but he is making due on another promise and he can only tackle so many things at once. - (same goes for any republican president or otherwise)

I am no Obama robot... I pay attention to everything. If I had my way neither McObamain would be in the white house. You need to pay attention to what I say more often. I don't take too much crap from either left or right when it isn't true.

You, however to be bitter than when you were first on this site. You lash out and call people names when they disagree with you. That isn't progress to a solution and it definitley is NOT standing up for your country. In fact, the bigotry of utilizing the term liberal as an insult or other name callings discourage political discussion overall and You shove your country down. YOU NEED TO STAND UP FOR YOUR COUNTRY!

Rosette this was a dumb blog. the answer is obvious. the only ones who left were liberals. (The smart ones)

Obama got elected. thats why this site is dead. If McCain got elected you would still have the people here that made you look good. Now you just look like an Obama fool.

Your country is in dire straights because of people like you and Mrs. prez still supporting this jerk off.

It seems like 9 people are on this site and 6 of those 9 people have two profiles.

thats exactly right and they are all liberals. I can match them for you now. theres only one conservative doing it and it is rare that we see them at all.

Ive answered the question: Politics.com plays to liberals needs. Politics tends to drive the site and the featured stories generally which have nothing to do with the story of the day.

The smart liberals all left because they are smart and finally came off their "black guy" "change" anti-war cause". they realize that not some but most of what OBAMA is doing is worse than the abortions you liberals support.

Why would you come around as a Democrat unless your stupid or a socialist. The smart libs are not gonna come around to get abused. Why come defend something that you know damn well is not gonna help anyone but the politicians themselves and the unions that support this shitz head. Why defend a socialist when the exact same policies were tried in the past and failed. Why?
