The Big Three were back in D.C., but they sure reminded me of another three guys. . . http://www.britethorn.com

You are right, they are holding their hands out asking for our pity in front of the cameras, but behind the scenes, they are shaking hands, patting backs and smoking cigars.

If they were truly understanding, they would have never flown to DC in their private jets.

My point is that the media is not reporting on the outlandish contracts that the Unions have forced down the throats of the auto makers. This is really the devastating blow that has put them where they are now.

I still feel that the three bozos should resign and leave MI.

I disagree with you on the media slamming them hard. I think that the media is trying to force us to accept and deal with this crap....

It is like watching a bunch of rich guys ask a bunch of other rich guys, "Hi, can we steal from the poor and give to the rich"

Another terrific piece. I failed to connect the dots to conclude that if Cerberus won't invest in its company, why should we? If there's a bailout (and I reluctantly agree there should be) then the privately-held Chrysler should be subject to different terms than the other, publicly-held, companies.

My slide down the free market slope is motivated firstly by concerns for the employees (all those related to the industry, who drive consumption), might involve sympathy for public shareholders (incl pension funds, etc) but is not at all moved by a portfolio loss suffered by a private-equity fund.

Help save Chrysler's people, but don't give its shareholders (Daimler holds the other 20%) any gifts here.

I notice that, not surprisingly, the media is really slamming these guys hard. I have not seen any coverage on the unions and their bosses who have done the vast majority of damage to this industry. (and most other industries they infiltrate)
