God may, or may not be real. There is no definitive proof either way, both believing and not believing require faith. Agnostics are the ones without faith, because they simply don't know.

I believe in an initial causality to the universe because I cannot accept that the entire mass of the universe came from a complete void (the necessary antithesis of a universe without an external causality). I would tend to think this causality has properties which exist outside our universe, most especially our concept of time. However, though I suspect that this may be a creator (god, if you will), I can never accept the tenets of a revealed religion (Christianity, Islam, etc.).
