Canada Loves Obama
We like Barack Obama and we made this little ditty for you all. Why don't you make him your next president? He's awesome! P.S. We are not connected with any T-shirt sales, coffee mug sales, snake oil sales, or other profit/greed-driven ventures surrounding "Canada Loves Obama" so if you want to help us out just pass the video along to someone and vote for proggressive candidates wherever you live!

Yes, but what they call conservatives, we call Democrats. Their category for "Republican" … Show full comment
I know. I am familiar with Canadian politics... but I would not however call the Conservative Party in Canada American Democrats, they are a bit in between the two major US parties. From their own mouths they favor the American Republicans in power over the Democrats. It is hard to correlate parties from other countries to US parties... since we only really have two major parties.
The Canadian conservative Party essentially pushes for privatization, smaller government and reform, decentralized federalism with a limited government in Ottawa, and stronger provinces. They are generally market driven and essentially boast a rather generous population of ideological libertarians (not to be confused with any of the libertarian parties). That is where the economic/fiscal conservancy and social moderates come from. The Party typically focuses on those issues over social conservative topics, but they do hold more socially conservative platform views than the more liberal groups in Canada. Yet, not usually as conservative as much of the American Republican base appears to be.
So, all in all I would say that they aren't Republicans, but they are not Democrats either. They are what they are, and they are certainly more conservative than Barack Obama.

This is from the same Canada that just elected an even stronger minority led Conservative government … Show full comment
Yes, but what they call conservatives, we call Democrats. Their category for "Republican" was the "Reform Party" started in Alberta which was not really viable and eventually merged with the Conservative Party, which now works like hell to keep their views away from public view.
