#Independent is a place for posting political articles released by the British news service.
Boris Johnson is putting through legislation that means radicals will be reviewed before being released from prison, and to overturn Tony Blair’s softer option of releasing without a panel deciding the safety issues concerned. Human rights lawyers will fight any ‘retrospective sentencing’ in order to earn their grubby money and to continue the endangerment of the British public by their clients.
It goes without saying that anyone who is a potential danger to members of the public, especially if ideologically radicalized to hate and with a driven desire to harm non believers, should be deported and tagged. The prison system is not a cure for radicalization, just a stop gap to be exposed more to it. The London Bridge terrorist Usam Khan, stabbed 3 people including a young guy charged with overseeing his deradicalisation! Prisoners are skilled at feigning normal behaviour in order to get liberty.
And so they should be. This was the third terrorist attack in 2 months and the British people deserve better protection. Sudesh Amman 21, had originally been convicted of a lesser charge of “collecting disseminating terrorist material,” although “he was planning a terrorist attack”! A slight contrast there? This guy sent beheading videos to his girlfriend and warned that her “kuffar” parents should beware… and he served less than half of a 3 year sentence. This outlines the danger of radical Islam and also how it is promoted in prisons. It is a breeding ground for radicalization, which suggests some kind of segregation policy must be looked at. Tougher sentences should be given out, and life should mean at least thirty years, and the security services must monitor those who are to be released to avoid letting this hatred on to the streets.
