Ethnic minorities are only courted for their vote if it useful in the long game.

Talking as an American who works in the U.K, the Poles are a hard working positive group of people and don’t look to take advantage of any loopholes in law or play the race card, so politicians let them get on with it. The rising Muslim community are the opposite in many ways and are the ‘darlings’ of the Labour Party despite many serious crimes attributed to them, because their VOTE is crucial. The U.K even overlooked the grooming and rape of British children by predominantly Pakistani men in order not to upset ‘diversity,’ with 1400 cases of this in one area of the U.K. LGBTQ has been taken up as a main policy by Labour leadership candidates although the LBGTQ constitute a very small percentage of the population. If backing a ‘minority’ presents an opportunity for some political spin and leverage, left wing politicians will jump on the bandwagon. Jews in Britain used to have a huge affiliation with the Labour Party but politics has meant that they are no longer important and they have been usurped in favour of the Muslim community. Antisemitism has been rife within the Labour Party and they are only the second party in history (after the British National Party) to have been reported to the Equalities Commission after some disgusting comments were exposed. Usefulness and votes are of the main concern, with national crime statistics for these supported ‘minorities’ regularly overlooked.
